Advancement mentoplasty, also known as advancement genioplasty, is a surgical procedure that seeks to improve the projection and shape of the chin to achieve a more balanced and harmonious facial appearance.

During the procedure, incisions are made inside the mouth or under the chin to access the chin bone. Next, an osteotomy, which is the controlled cutting of the bone, is performed to advance the position of the chin forward. This procedure can be combined with other techniques, such as the placement of chin implants, to achieve optimal results according to the patient's individual needs.

Advancement mentoplasty is indicated for patients who wish to correct a receding or weak chin, which can cause an unbalanced facial profile. Achieving a better facial proportion, in addition to correcting functional problems such as crossbite or sleep apnea.
