Innovation in Mastopexy

January 10, 2024

Mastopexy corrects the position of the mammary glands. Plastic surgeons have achieved this goal with several techniques and their latest innovations consist in reducing the scars of the procedure.

The "Lollipop" technique has been developed to generate a single vertical scar which replaces the inverted T or also known as "anchor" shape which has been used for several years without compromising the duration of the result for 12-15 years. The periareolar technique that has been used for some time is now combined with the use of resorbable meshes in order for your result to maintain the desired shape longer with the advantage of the periareolar scar only.

Finally the filling with the patient's own fat or fat grafting (fat transfer) that helps to increase the volume and improve the appearance of redundant skin providing a more natural look, this procedure has scars of only 3-5mm in length.
